Sobey's Stadium
National Bank Open, previously known as the Rogers Cup, is the third-oldest tennis tournament in the world, founded after Wimbledon and the US Open in 1881.
The National Bank Open got its start at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club, while today, it takes place at the Sobeys Stadium hard courts after almost a century on clay. That means the National Bank Open is an excellent chance to see tennis players warm up for the hardcourt US Open, whereas in decades past, it was a good preview of how athletes were getting ready for the French Open, which is also on clay.
